Brand identity development for investment managers; Hawksmoor.
Hawksmoor, named for the British architect Nicholas Hawksmoor famous for his varying design and creativity, required an update to their dated brand identity.
While multiple re-designs of the logo were proposed, the chosen design utilised the same element from one of Nicholas Hawksmoor’s most famous building – Christ Church Spitalfields.
The signature archway and keystone design from the building was used with the typography reflecting that time period.
Texture plays a key part in the new identity with business cards using Fedrigoni paper with a single side embossed to create a stone texture representative of the Portland stone used in Hawksmoor’s architecture.
The use of texture is carried throughout all the literature with different colours used to distinguish documents.
An additional graphic element based on the shadow cast from the Spitalfields spire is also used.
